AMBA Appreciation Award Winners 2021
The AMBA Appreciation Awards program was established to acknowledge AMBA members’ valued contributions and introduce dedicated, creative and innovative individuals and clubs to their peers on a national level. The awards promote teamwork and recognise activities that increase the profile of AMBA within local and national communities.
2021 Winners
Local award - Individual
Zoe Miller
Westgate Multiple Birth Association
Awarded to an individual who embodies one or more of the AMBA values and has delivered a service or benefit outside the defined role or expectation of their committee position. This individual will have demonstrated the value in an exceptional manner, leading to the betterment of multiple birth families within their local area or their state.
Zoe demonstrated the AMBA value of ‘Respect Unity’ by working collaboratively with her fellow Victorian Presidents while also contributing to activity at a national level. Zoe played a key role in how WMBA adapted and adjusted the membership and support offered during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included a schedule of online events, webinars and family gift boxes. Zoe has also pursued grant opportunities to support members to ‘reconnect’ after a challenging period of lockdowns and reached out to local small business and community organisations to realise mutual benefits for the local community.

Local Award - Team
Illawarra South Coast Multiple Birth Association
Awarded to a club who embodies one or more of the AMBA values and has delivered a service or benefit outside the defined role or expectation of their club. This club will have demonstrated the value in an exceptional manner, leading to the betterment of multiple birth families within their local area or their state.
The ISCMBA Committee has demonstrated the AMBA value of ‘Serve Families’ by tailoring their club offerings to achieve a high level of member engagement. The committee strategically uses their annual member survey to identify and plan how they will meet their members specific needs. ISCMBA connect with members in many ways, including assigning buddies, sending welcome packs, running playgroups and events, as well as delivering some very impressive online engagement. The club’s growth is truly a testament to the work of the committee and their commitment to serving multiple birth families.
AMBA Service Award
Awarded to AMBA volunteers who have achieved a minimum of ten years of service in a club, state and/or national project team/board role. These extraordinary individuals are the stalwarts of AMBA. They fill vacancies, mentor newer committee members, provide wisdom, experience and a steady hand and keep our clubs and local services running for the benefit of multiple birth families.
