The Australian Multiple Birth Association (AMBA) is collaborating with the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) to provide feedback on a bid for Medicare funding for abdominoplasty with repair of symptomatic rectus diastasis following pregnancy.
AMBA supports the ASPS bid for this procedure to be reinstated, particularly for women suffering symptomatic rectus diastasis, which has increased occurence following multiple birth pregnancy (compared with singleton pregnancy).
The AMBA Board of Directors are collecting data and feedback from the perspective of multiple birth families.
This survey closed in April 2021 in order to collate feedback and provide it to the ASPS by their May deadline.
