Explore the challenges of becoming a parent of multiples and hear from a twin parent, who shared her own experiences.
It’s important as a new or expecting parent to look after your own emotional well-being. As a multiple parent, this can be pretty challenging! It can be especially tough if you are experiencing anxiety or depression, which affects up to 1 in 5 new mums/birth parents and 1 in 10 new dads/non-birth parents. But we know that getting the right help, as early as you can, will lead to a faster recovery.
This interactive session explores the huge changes and some of the challenges of becoming a parent of multiples. We also provide information about mental health for new and expecting parents, including signs and symptoms that you might need extra help, and the support options available. The highlight is a story shared by a PANDA volunteer, herself a twin parent, who shares her experiences of perinatal anxiety, depression and recovery.
This webinar is facilitated by Sarah Marlowe, a twin parent herself, and the leader of PANDA’s Community and Training Programs team. She is an experienced speaker, and is passionate about supporting the emotional and mental well-being of multiples parents and all families. Sarah is joined by Mell B, a parent of four, including a set of twins as her youngest. Mell is a PANDA volunteer and is trained and supported by PANDA to share her story in the community and with health professionals.
